For world travelers: An EASY C to F (reciprocals) temp conversion.
0 C = 32 F
Freezing temp of water.
100 C = 212 F
Boiling point of water.
OK, everybody knows (or should know) that.
We will not deal with nor address kelvin here.
That makes my head hurt.

However,
16 C = 61 F
28 C = 82 F

Using these guidelines, you can interpolate the rest and come pretty close.
At least close enough to know if you'll need a sweater in Paris or Istanbul tomorrow.

Yer welcome.
:-)

At home I use this conversion tool:

3. Yes, it's a good use for an old photo-developing thermometer.
It's still accurate, but I have to hold it outside if I want the "local" temps ;)

6. Easier to think of it as two logarithmic series convolved through Schroedinger probability wave
but that's just me - I prefer to do things in my head, rather than waste the paper writing it out.

9. Yeah, but if you factor in Rhelph's anomaly...
that contravenes Schroedinger and also brings kelvin into the equation.
Which I was trying to avoid in the first place.

10. Do it in 11-dimensional string space and it all washes out, you moron.
Edited on Wed Dec-02-09 07:17 PM by Rabrrrrrr
I thought that was self-explanatory.

Keep it Simple Indeed - Rhelph's anomaly (while otherwise a good thing) is clearly uncalled for in this limited application due to the lack of Grappleton Miscegenators.

Lay people - what a vexation.

14. You mean I learned the conversions the hard way?
Though when travelling, I rarely looked for the actual temperature. Just stepped outside to see whether I'd need a pulli.
