To-do: 1. March in the Grey Cup parade at lunchtime, check. |
|
2. Attend Zero 7 show at a small club, park in front of the stage and see the whole thing for once, check.
Yesterday was a good day indeed. :) Wonder what I get to do today.
P.S. For youse guys to the south of I, the Montreal Alouettes won the Canadian national championship Sunday, hence parade. I only marched a couple of blocks because I had to get back to work, but it still counts. :)
Zero 7 played for a solid 2 hours, and they were great! Even the opening band was good. :bounce:

Where was the parade? Rue Ste Catherine?
I'm still miffed that I couldn't find the Grey Cup on cable anywhere.

4. Between Crescent and Place des Arts |

It was cool. Something like 200,000 people showed up, according to the papers. Not too shabby for lunchtime on a weekday in a city of almost 4 million...! :bounce:

2. You can thank Baltimore for that one. |
|
The current incarnation of the Montreal Alloutes are the old Baltimore Stallions/CFL Colts prior to the NFL coming back to town.
The CFL was a lot of fun to watch. And the Stallions, in their two years of existance, kicked serious ass (2 Grey Cup appearances, one Grey Cup title).

3. You need to thank the Roughrider player who wasn't supposed to be on the field! |
|
Otherwise, they would have marched in Regina and maybe Saskatoon!
Go Saskatchewan!!! :bounce:

6. I did - several times - on Sunday night |
|
At first, I didn't even know there was a penalty flag, and I was all bummed out that Duval missed the kick.
See you next season! :bounce:

7. I'm probably the only Floridian with a Roughriders T-shirt |

My roommate is from SK, so they're my favorite CFL team. It was a little hard rooting for them, when they sucked, but I got used to that rooting for the Tampa Bay Bucs now and in the past.
Congrats to MNTRL, C'est formidable!!

It's just nice to get over the local team's reputation for choking egregiously in the big game these past few tries. :)
