We may be getting a new fur baby--her name is Snowy--and she's
a rescue dog I found through Petfinder.com She's 2 years old, Spitz and Golden Retriever mix (I'm guessing
momma must have been the Spitz)

And of course, her pic:

3. Isn't she a cutie?
We've been without a dog baby since our beloved Tanya crossed the rainbow bridge 17 months ago. And now,
with Mouse (the kitty) having gone to meet her on Monday...well, I figured it was time to add another fur baby to the house. Simba (Mouse's brother) has been looking for him in all Mouse's favorite hiding spots.

Snowy is known to ignore cats...so I'm hoping that Simba will not be too annoyed as long as he isn't chased.

5. oh, poor Simba.
Ya know, I've never owned more than one pet at a time; I bet it's heartbreaking to witness the other pets look for the "missing" one. :(

6. It is. Both Simba and Mouse behaved differently when Tanya went away and

didn't return. They became much more clingy. They would curl up on the same spot on the living room rug where Tanya had slept. And of course, they had each other. I can't begin to replace Mouse for Simba,
but perhaps he will find it interesting to watch a new dog. Simba was always indifferent to Tanya
where Mouse seemed to think Tanya was his mother.

7. I'm so sorry about Mouse
that's terribly sad for Simba but for you too, so sorry

I ended up getting another dog just 5 months after my Molly died from cancer. It was too soon at the time but I really wanted another dog. When I saw Sophie at Pet Finders I knew she was 'the one' for me.

It's been over two years now and she is a perfect fit for me. I hope Snowy turns out to be that for you and for Simba too- it'll be interesting to see how Simba reacts.

In any case, what fun to have a new dog in the house AND one that's so pretty!! :D

9. I'm getting nervous--no contact from the foster mother since
this afternoon after the rescue organization approved me and turned the adoption over to her and said
she would be in touch to arrange the meeting.

I hope I'm not going to hear, "oh, my kids just fell in love with Snowy and we've decided to
keep her."

10. I remember that feeling.
I got my dog on petfinders, too, and remember the anxiety of waiting to hear the good word. Relax. People have lives. They'll get back to you when they can. And really, if the worst you hear is that she is no longer available, then you know a dog has found a home and you can keep looking for yours. Win-win. Great looking dog! Good luck!
