foreclosure question
I decided to stop answering the cell phone that my husband gave me because I am sick of his drunk-dialing. However, just for grins, I decided to pick up the latest messages from him. He wants me to quit-claim the deed to the house over to him, or if I don't, his parents (who hold the mortgage) will foreclose on the house and ruin my credit.

What I don't understand is this: why will foreclosure ruin my credit, but not his?

My lawyer is out of town for a few days, so I'm wondering if anyone here knows what this shambling shitwad is talking about?

1. Whose name is on the mortgage? And whose is on the deed?

4. Both of our names are on the deed
He bought the house way before he met me. I guess the first thing I should do is ask to see a copy of the mortgage papers. I hate the fact that his parents hold the mortgage. I feel screwn. :(

2. If you're both in title and both on the mortgage, the Lis Pendens could be filed
only naming you. The pending results of the foreclosure aside, the Lis Pendens when of record would only ping you and would hurt your credit.

Usual disclaimer: this applies to Florida, and might not to your state. Talking to an attorney is always the best rule of thumb.

3. I know exactly what the shambling shitwad is talking about
But why should you take the word of some wanker on an Internet message board?

5. I have no objection to feedback from wankers
with respect to shambling shitwads. ;)
