Luckily, I don't have stairs ;)

But, I do have to stop and start in my "walking" as he criss-crosses in front of me, stops to make sure I'm still behind him and then back to walking between my legs. He's been stepped on plenty of times, yet continues to be in the wrong places. I don't think I've ever hurt him much, but I usually end up with my own muscles all cramped because I try to prevent myself from putting any weight on him...
