AWACS? Really? I'm pretty-sure that active domestic scanning violates some laws regarding domestic surveillance, even if the Bush-baby gutted most of those laws.

Specifically they use E-2C to scan for active non-visible threats to carrier groups so you might want to get that Russian sub out of your bathtub.
