Holliday gift giving idea.
Christmas gift ideas for adults who don't really need anything.

Make a donation to a charity in their honor.

Buy a gift from The animal rescue site or a "Fair Trade" organization that sells environmentally friendly items like "Poo paper" http://www.poopoopaper.com/purpose.html

or The Fair Trade Store. http://www.globalexchangestore.org/ Give in a way that gives back.

Feel free to add your favorite "giving" store.

2. Kick for this.
What a great idea! :)

For the past couple of years, I've been buying presents for friends & family from The Hunger Site and its affiliates (The Breast Cancer Site, Child Health Site, Literacy Site, Rainforest Site, & Animal Rescue Site), and I would recommend it to anyone who's looking to "give back" a little. The online store has all kinds of neat gifts that you can buy - artwork, jewelry, clothing, accessories, games, coffee/tea, and other cool stuff from around the world - and with each purchase you are helping to donate food, preserve habitats, provide medical care, etc.

Or, if you don't feel the need to give a physical present to somebody:

- The "Gifts That Give More" section (on The Hunger Site, or any of its affiliates) has options for charitable donations in just about any form you can think of - clean water for villages, vaccinations for schoolchildren, aid for victims of natural disasters, food & shelter for rescued animals...the list goes on and on. :)

- Similar concept at Oxfam America Unwrapped - help others in need around the world.

- Several members of my extended family have opted for the Heifer International project in the past; in fact, I'm pretty sure the first time I heard of this whole concept was when we got a card from Heifer International one Christmas saying that my aunt and uncle had donated a share of sheep in our name! :) Very cool.

Anyway, those are just a few of the ones I'm familiar with - thanks for starting this thread, Maraya! :) I'll definitely bookmark it for future reference.

4. I got my regular flea stuff from them. And I bought this stuff called "Natures
Miracle" which I have been using for years for my dogs an cats. And yea they donated about a whole big bag of food for the amount I would have paid anyway at the pet shop. It is a great place.

6. Nature's Miracle is great stuff. I've been using it for years. And one bag
lasts a loooong time because you just sprinkle a little bit on their food. I also put some olive oil on there food. My dog Paco loves it. One time while I was pouring it he tried to lick it on the way down!

7. Have you checked with your local animal control or humane society about the spay?
Because I took my cat and I paid ZERO. I had to wait a month to get an appointment. And there were a bunch of people there in the morning dropping off their pets to get fixed.

I think more places are doing this kind of thing since the "spay neuter'" T shirts and whatnot have come into being.
