What would be the politically correct term to call someone with no tolerance to physical pain... |
|
... or hardship, is physically weak, whines incessantly about normal aches and pains, etc.
I know what a perfect un-PC term for them would be, but not a PC one. Any help?

3. I've actually been told on here that is homophobic. |
|
I don't know how, but I guess it is to some people.

26. I think wimp is gender-neutral, |
|
Edited on Sun Dec-06-09 12:45 PM by wickerwoman
but candy-ass strikes me as homophobic.
I know it's not very scientific, but the top rated definition for "candy ass" on the urban dictionary is:
"a male who is meek and timid, shows female personality traits" which is clearly sexist if not openly homophobic.
Ask yourself "why ass?" "why candy?" I'll confess I don't know the specific origins of "candy-ass" but I'd be really surprised to hear that it wasn't homophobic.
Basically, any gender-neutral ones that aren't based on the assumption that weakness is feminine or gay, like "wuss", "wimp" or "weakling" seem adequate to the task.
On edit:
Oo, interesting, nevermind then :D CANDY - adj., Labor. 1. candy-assed. 1911 "Hampton's Mag." (Jan.) 20: Are you going to be a fashion plate, a candy dude, insult us this way.2. (of a job or the like) having pleasant or advantageous conditions; soft; easy. 1930 "D. Stiff' "Milk and Honey" 201: " 'Candy job' is the pleasant job."
CANDY-ASS - noun. 1.a. a weakling or coward - usually considered vulgar.1933 "Leatherneck": (April) 14: "Pvt. Bob McCallum, a recruit who looked like a potential fighting man when he enlisted, has been shanghaied into the clerical force and now carries the moniker Candy Ankles..b. cowardice or weakness - constructed with "the" - usually considered vulgar. 1967 W. Crawford "Gresham's War" 114: "You've changed. Got the candyass now, huh?."

I'd almost certainly be accused of homophobia. It is certainly apt though.

A pansy is a flower... that's not as un-PC as the alternative of which you're thinking.
Wuss is kinda weak, but it works.

People are who they are. If everyone handled everything the same not only would the world be bland but innovation would suffer as well. And just calling them a _ussy is to simplistic IMHO.

It's both a noun and a verb. It can describe the person himself, a particular complaint and the act of whining and complaining itself.
Example: "That kvetch kept kvetching about his current kvetch."

A lot of the people you describe do have underlying issues like fibromyalgia or depression.
Fuck, I was that person while I was spending two years of my life chronically sleep deprived.
