I would like to take this opportunity to think the incompetent, sycophantic voters and executives of the BCS (Bull*%@* Counting System) for placing TCU and Boise State in the same bowl game. You did this was you can delegitamize both teams by denying them a shot at the big programs and be able to maintain the myth of a fair and properly balanced organiztion that will determine who will play for and win the national championship of Division I college football. I know you want to avoid another embarassing loss by one of the big $$$ programs of college football like you've had in the past, with Boise State beating Oklahoma or Utah beating Alabama and before that Pitt. So you set it up so the deep pocketed alumnist and boosters don't have to worry about seeing some school that has little or no top flight recruit and spends less than half of what their school spends on a football program beating their beloved team and spend their time in the offseason getting chided by their fellow ultra wealthy peers as they suck down tumblers filled with bourbon and smoking cigars in country clubs. So congratulations BCS you've fullfilled your only reason for exhisting: to maintain college footballs status quo of money and power.

It wasn't the BCS that put them there it was the people who run the Fiesta Bowl. They lost the Big 12 tie-in to Texas going to the NC so they were the only Bowl with two at-large options. They(The Fiesta Bowl people-not BCS) said themselves they wanted a matchup of two undefeated teams outside of the National Championship game which is the first time ever that happened. T

Can't be any worse than Notre Dame in any bowl game. They'll be in the MAC next year anyhow.

Alabama should blow Texas away. One of these years, though, the BCS will be no more, and an actual on-the-field champion will be determined instead of the final match-up being decided in the bowels of some computer somewhere. Just think of the champions in the NCAA basketball tournament. Sure, there have been many years where the favorite going into the tournament came out as the champion, but very often the champion has been completely unexpected. Why the NCAA and its sponsors don't want to bring that kind of excitement to football is beyond me.
Although, as things stand now, the SEC or the Big 12 practically get an automatic pass for their conference champion to go to the BCS bowl game, no matter how undeserving they might be. And this year will be another example of an overrated Big 12 champion fattening up on inferior competition and getting smushed in the championship.

The BCS seems to be the Chamber of Commerce types best effort at staving off an honest to goodness playoff system in Division I-A.
