Does anyone recall the title of a famous survival story re: two hikers? |
|
It took place in Sweden or Norway and was about two guys who are out hiking together and run into a tremendous snow storm and lose their way. As they slog along, conditions worsen until it seems they both may freeze to death. En route they turn on each other, especially as one seems to have dictated all the wrong choices. I'm not sure but I think the time frame might have been the 1960's or later.
Its a great story and I don't want to give away the ending lets just say that the feast of Santa Lucia features prominently as this true incident took place around this time of year.
Thanks for any help - I've been googling for awhile and can't come up with anything.
