Kindle
I've been thinking of buying one of these for awhile now. Yes, I like turning pages in a real book but right now the house is kind of overflowing with books and I really don't want to add any more to the clutter. If you've got one how good has it performed and how doyou like it? And how easy is it to DL the books?

And no, I don't want to hear about the Nook or the Apple whatever it is ;-)

1. Interesting concept
but isn't it like staring at a light bulb all day? I wonder how all of this will affect our eyes.

3. Kindle user for 3 months
I like it a lot. Easy on the eyes and it just works.

Downloading books is quite simple. Turn the wireless on, as long as there is a connection available, and wait about 10 minutes and the book(s) are downloaded.

I leave teh wireless off usually to conserve the battery.

4. I love mine! It's brilliant. And easy to read. Easy to download books.
And the Kindle now also has a program for one's computer, to store books there as well, and for the iPhone.

And they'll all synch together, so if you read a bit of a book on your iPhone and go to your Kindle, the Kindle will begin where you left off on the iPhone.

It's great for traveling! I was able to take a three week vacation and carried a crapload of books with me - except they were all on the Kindle!

"if you read a bit of a book on your iPhone and go to your Kindle, the Kindle will begin where you left off on the iPhone."

That's scary. :scared:
