Question about baking brownies from a mix. |
|
I baked my brownies by the instructions on the box, in an 8x8 glass pan, 45 min at 325F.
They were perfect around the edges and underdone in the middle.
What should I change next time I bake these brownies? (Note: they contain no herb.)

No copycats from me!
Perhaps I would try a slightly lower temp with a slightly longer time..for instance, 300F for an hour...
Usually the box mixes give a range of times for best results. Did yours? I find mine are pretty crispy on the edges and done inside.
I love the brownie mix by Ghirardelli. I get it from Costco...
Good luck!

3. Is your oven temperature accurate? |
|
That could be the real problem, not the time you baked them. Get an oven thermometer and go by what that says, rather than trusting whatever is your temp. setting.
Mmmmmm...Ghiardelli brownies.

6. I just baked some, too! |
|
My instructions say: for an 8x8 glass pan 325˚F 50-55 minutes, and test with a toothpick 2" from the side of the pan. I used a 9x13 glass pan and baked them at 350˚ for about 32 minutes, though instructions called for 26-28. I'd take those underdone brownies and bake them a little longer, or serve in a bowl with ice cream!
