Post here your memorable John Lennon song moment. Here's mine...
I've always loved the song "Imagine". I remember the day they announced Bush Jr was invading Iraq, I was driving in my car home from work. Annoyed at the news I hit one of the radio resets just so I could hear something other than the talk of war and the next reset I heard was "Imagine". For some reason it made me realize that no good would come of this invasion of Iraq.

I just watched "The Killing Fields" again the other night. I think they had the best use of the song "Imagine" with the final scene when Sydney arrives at the Red Cross refugee camp in Thailand (just over the border of Cambodia). When he sees that Dith Pran did survive 4 years in Cambodia under the cruel Khmer Rouge regime - tears just start spilling from my eyes.

I was born in the mid 80s but understand the pain of losing an icon. I lived in The Rio Grande Valley(the Southern most part of Texas sharing a border with Mexico) and was crushed when Selena was shot and killed right as she was about to make it. The entire 5 county region went into mourning

I dont think I will be able to grasp how much he meant to my moms generation. He must have been a beautiful person

Here is David Bowie singing Imagine in tribute to Lennon

3. "Instant Karma" was the first Lennon song I ever heard and I loved it instantly
although I was 8 years old at the time and it would be several years before I knew what the song really meant. :)

4. I am preparing to be flamed.
My favorite John Lennon song moment is timing myself on the amount of time it takes me to hit "OFF" everytime he comes on the radio.

7. Grow old with me
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AEpc2s6Q9FI&feature=related

Grow old along with me
The best is yet to be
When our time has come
We will be as one
God bless our love
God bless our love

Grow old along with me
Two branches of one tree
Face the setting sun
When the day is done
God bless our love
God bless our love

Spending our lives together
Man and wife together
World without end
World without end

Grow old along with me
Whatever fate decrees
We will see it through
For our love is true
God bless our love
God bless our love

8. One day Mr. Lennon remembered to write a rock n roll song
Meat City

I never cared for Imagine. I liked it even less after sitting through endless plays after Lennon was murdered. It was as if that was the only song Lennon wrote.
