I've read that these are essentially useless tools anyway. I wish they would just send it to me instead of the face to face thing.

Overall, it went well, mostly positive feedback. Salary freeze at our company this year, but I will get a bonus. Not, unfortunately, in the same league as a bank exec, but every little bit helps. Strangely, I won't find out how much of a bonus until December 14th.

Funnily, the most "negative" feedback came from an attorney who had not even done my review until I reminded the committee. I knew full well that she would give me a slightly negative spin. In fact, it accidentally got emailed to me, but I very honorably forwarded it to the right person, and deleted it without reading it.

By way of background - no one else will work with her (I'm a paralegal) and at least three other paralegals have simply stated over the years they would not work with her any longer. Finally she landed in my lap. She's a very nice woman, and we get along well, but she's completely disorganized. I remind her and remind her and remind her of deadlines and she pays no attention to me. Finally, we'll bump up on the last day or two, and she'll say, "I need you to remind me about these things!" LOL.

I generally like the people I work with, but one thing about lawyers, they feel that they have to "lawyer" their own staff. A lot, not all of them, make the working relationship somewhat adversarial. It must just be trained into them. It can't be intentional, but it really is that way working with lawyers.

Why do laywers put Esquire after their names? It means a landed property owner. It does not mean lawywer!!!!

Our job entails that we are almost constantly online. But we do get breaks.

I'm working for a consulting firm and we took a paycut hit for 6 months but are starting to rebound. I have not had a review in nearly two years as salaries have been on hold since then.

Well, at least I have a job and a roof over my head (and my family too!)
