Surf's up.... way up

Two surfers ride a 50-foot wave at Waimea Bay on the north shore of Oahu in Haleiwa, Hawaii December 7, 2009. Waves 50 feet and bigger are expected through Wednesday. The Eddie Aikau Big Wave Invitational surf contest is on hold for tomorrow.

Unreal.

I've been screaming all day, like it's a football game.

5. Yes, this is historical.
Right now this thing could be won for the second time, by either Slater or Irons and it would be the only time any one has won it twice.

And it's only the 8th time this thing's been run in 25 years.

Plus, Clyde Aikau at 60 years old has been charging all day and is Eddie's brother.

Such a legendary event on so many levels.

The massive crowd has been there all day.

I tuned in at 8am Hawaiian time, and haven't stopped watching all day

The photos and videos in the coming weeks are going to be psychotic.
