Why is it that storm winds can knock down utility poles, causing power outages, yet
your Christmas lights stay put?

1. I've seen plenty of houses around here with their Christmas lights torn down
after last nights wind and rain, and we have more wind on the way.

2. a giant inflatable dreidel (wow!) on my way to work was still attached to the
ground. I don't know how, but it was. Meanwhile the gutter from a neighbor's house had fallen onto the porch. Go figure.

I'm going to have to go to my parent's house tomorrow to put back up their lights. Happens every year.

5. That's why we southerners leave our Christmas lights on our trailers year round.
Protects them from hurricanes. True fact.
