Question for Nautical Experts or Antique/Historians |
|
Does anyone know what you call the sculpture that use to be on old nautical ships?Usually a siren or mermaid and they were at the very front mounted on the ship. A friend of mine use to have a beautiful antique wooden sculpture of a siren he bought down at an antique shop a long time ago in Mystic,CT.Looking for one myself for my den and have no idea what they are called.Been trying to find a picture but so far no luck. Thanks!
