The memory foam ones with a bulge at the top and bottom are great for neck support.

Cross-section looks sorta like a dog bone.

I agree with Drum, IKEA has a geat assortment of puffy but not overfilled synthetic down (also real down) pillows that are "scrunchable". I got one for my mom, and might get some 'cause the're hecka inexpensive but much more to my liking than those dense 'neck stiffeners' that most US stores carry.
