Question on TV show "LOST"
I have heard enough about it that I have started watching the back episodes on-line.
I'm near half way through season 1, and still not sure if it's worth it.
Any opinions on whether I should push through and catch up to current?

2. if you have the time, definitely
It's a wonderful series. The first two seasons are great and I'd match them up to any other two season span out there (except maybe the West Wing which is in a class all by itself with it's first two seasons). The fourth season gets a little muddied, you could tell the writers were searching for their plot lines, but the fifth season is then almost as good as the first two. Every episode of the 5th season is filled with action and the plot moves at a very quick pace leading to the final season which starts next month.

3. Its a very good show
It gets frustrating because answers usually bring more questions, but thats how good mysteries work. Enjoy it. Totally worth the time to watch, provided you ahve the time to watch.

5. The trick is not thinking about it while watching
At least for me. You have to get caught up in the show to really enjoy it. I'd say keep going just for the start of Season 2, and the end of Season 3. Everything else is gravy.

15. That would seem to defeat the point of watching this awesome show
but to each his/her own. I've found the writers do a hell of a job especially in seasons 4 and 5 of bringing the whole thing together where stuff that happened in earlier seasons comes into play. Yeah, the earlier seasons aren't quite as good as the later ones, but were still great compared to other network shows. I think about LOST A LOT - trying to figure out the mysteries, see where it's going, what larger statements and themes do certain things in the show stand for etc. Lost is, in my opinion, the best written show on network tv.

6. I personally LOVE the show, but it's not for everybody
If you're not impressed with the first season, then you might not want to continue much further. Then again, new characters and situations are introduced all the time so it's hard to say if you'll start getting into it or not.

8. It's worth it
Season 3 was weak, but it closed strong, with some OMGWTF reveals at the end. Slog through the crappy, half-assed romantic subplots and you'll eventually get back to some awesome stuff.

9. Now would be a good time to start from the beginning
with the final season around the corner. You have saved yourself years of torture waiting to figure out why a modern front loading washer and dryer were in the hatch.

10. I posted almost the exact same question here a few months ago
Now I'm going through major withdrawls waiting for Netflix to post season 5.

Some nights I would watch six episodes in a row. It was like a crack pipe for the eyes.

12. I would think that if you've liked the episodes up to this point
I would think that if you've liked the episodes up to this point, you'll enjoy the rest.

Granted, the show will go off in directions you'll never even dream of; but if you dig the show's concept, the depth of character, the back stories, and the surreal sense of Gilligan's Island meets Alfred Hitchcock Presents, stick with it... it's well worth the frustration and consternation it causes.

14. Best. Show. Ever.

There are slow spots (Jack's tatoo's? Nikki and Paulo?) but it's worth watching all seasons. There is a terrific internet community on the show, also.

The show had me hooked from the pilot back in 2004.
