DU Techies: (Another) firewall question...
I know, I know. This is getting old for me too.

I'm still having an issue with multiple scans on my ports. My security log shows that most attacks come every 2-3 minutes, with 3 scans within a 10 sec period. I found out how to do a who-is and have traced all the attacks back to a blackhole server at IANA (Internet Assigned Numbers Authority). When I went to their website they stated that a possible problem would be:

"your system is configured to pass all outgoing packets, but to block most incoming packets (an extremely common case), then it may be that your DNS client is successfully sending queries to the blackhole servers, but blocking (and logging) the returning answers."

However, I have not changed my firewall settings (as far as sending and receiving packets)since I installed it. And, to troubleshoot, I reinstalled my firewall and have it set to ask before allowing permission to access. Nor have I hacked my Windows registry or anything that would screw with my DNS.

Has anyone else had this problem? I have gone from one attack every 2 to 3 months, or so to twenty to thirty per day. The only thing I have installed recently is Mozilla, but I can't think of how this would mess with my Windows registry
