Poll question: If Josip Broz Tito had joined the Beatles, would he have been able to hold the band together? |

1. It would depend on the Yoko Factor. |
|
Even Tito wasn't a miracle worker.

2. There was no Slobodan Milosevic making trouble that Tito couldn't handle. |
|
Why would managing a mere "Yoko Factor" require a miracle worker?

3. Guess that all depends. |
|
If he had met them during the Hamburg club days, and he could either play bass better than Stu Sutcliffe or drums better than Pete Best, then he probably would have been asked to join the band. But I don't see him taking John, Paul, or George's place.

4. That answer appears to have a substantive basis. |

I use the words "appears to have" because I haven't done the research myself.

5. sidenote: just watched "Gimme Some Truth"--the making of Imagine. |
|
pretty interesting clips, including Lennon rehearsing How Do You Sleep with George, grinning maniacally at one point while playing one segment. VERY clear he loathed Paul at that point
disturbing interference by Yoko at various junctures; painful reminder of what once was, when juxtaposed with George's presence.
lots of Phil Spector, too

6. He would have held the band together, but they'd seem like a backup group |
|
Tito was HUGH, they would have been outshined by his presence.

7. Tito could hold anything together, but the rhythm should be left to Ringo. |

8. I think Tito's Vodka would have done more good, had it existed yet. |

9. Yes, but his wife, Jovanka, would have presented problems. Perhaps insurmountable. nt |
