3. Carmina Burana (Orff's version) premiered in 1937.
Long before Ozzy.

There is also a baroque version of Carmina Burana that I have on CD.

Carmina Burana means "Songs of Beuren". Beuren was an abbey that had some rather wild monks who wrote love poems about spring and carousing in general.

4. I was making a joke there, MoL
Ozzy has made some classic rock, but not a whole lot of classical music. If you listen to the tune I have linked above, made in 1980 I think, you will hear that Ozzy may have taken some liberties with Carmina Burana.

8. Actually, Randy Rhoads studied classical--Bach
So that's why it has intricate noodles in it.

I did not know that, and when I read it on the net I thought, "Oh, so that's why Crazy Train has that intricate solo in the middle!".

5. "music many hate to love but find vexingly irresistible"
In 1937, the year in which "Carmina Burana" enjoyed its smashing success, the National Socialists were engaged in a furious propaganda battle with the churches of Germany, countering the Christian message of compassion with neo-pagan worship of holy hatred. - Orff's Musical and Moral Failings

9. You seem to be staying on the sex topic a little too much
didn't you have 5 locked threads yesterday because they all were about sex?

Castle Superstores might interest you and provide you with a much needed diversion. I hear the Rabbit is quite popular.

I don't give a rat's ass about your sex life and it is against the rules to start sex threads....you might wanna find another topic of conversation.

12. the music in that clip is O Fortuna...
merely a single piece from Orff's Carmina Burana. The Ballet Production with Choral Ensemble is something to behold!
