3. I am a doctoral student, and I just finished one hell of a semester.

I still have a paper to do, too.

But I just finished the most hellish week I've ever had in my academic life.

4. Doctoral student in what Field ?

Grad school is tough whatever the field , and it gets tougher ... you finish all the coursework , Pass qualifiers .... then reach a point where you feel whatever you have done is worthless and you just want to quit , after about 2 to 3 years in,every Grad student reaches that point and has to pass that hurdle . Then you do your candidacy , and then your Defense is basically a rubber stamping event provided you publish in a peer reviewed journal.
