4. I suppose every year is the end of a decade. |
|
And a century. And a millennium. Just depends where you start counting. ;)

6. I'm just going by the fact that our present year-counting system |
|
did not start with a -0- ;)

7. hold on, the 1800's ended on 1/1/1900. This decade is the naughts, not the first decade |

At the same time, no one is mentioning that somewhere along the line we had a 9-year "decade" in order to get off like this ;)

14. So did the nineteen forties end at the end of 12/31/1950? |
|
Edited on Sat Dec-12-09 10:52 AM by JVS
Mind you that I'm saying forties and not the 195th decade AD.

18. As far as I'm concerned they did. |

And the 50s on 12/31/60. And the 60s on 12/31/70. And the 70s on 12/31/80. And the 80s on 12/31/90. And the 90s (and the millennium) on 12/31/00. And so the 00s will end on 12/31/10.
Just as the first decade AD ended on 12/31/10AD. If it ended on 12/31/9AD then that would have had to mean that either:
The first decade had only 9 years, or there was in fact a year 0. And there wasn't.
It's not hard if you know how to count. :eyes:

22. That's exactly how I see it. |
|
Because it's either that, or we really do have a "decade" out there somewhere that's only 9 years long :P

3/4 of my business just conflagrated.
The only upside was taking things back from the brink with Obama's election

It'll take more than a few months to recover from the Bush disaster. More like a century.
Call me in 2110.

We had the worst President ever for 8 years. The decade wasn't very productive for me and I lost my grandfather who I was very close to in 2006. There is hope with the Obama administration, but changes are likely to come slower than I would like.

got divorced, got married, had a baby, went back to college, discovered what i don't want to do, became aware of what i do want to do, went to my first protest, became politically and socially aware, met the worst kinds of people, made true friends, stopped caring what others thought and just did it anyway.
this decade was the most enlightening yet.

23. Worse than shitting watermelons. In the 90's I did the equivalent of shitting watermelons |
|
That wasn't so bad, really, and was part of what was awesome in the 90's.
This decade? Fuck it right in the ear!
