Okay, which town.... The Bedford Falls prior to the dream...
Or Pottersville...

Pottersville looks like a fun time what with all the gin joints, the fights and well, all the prostitutes...

The other one, well looks pretty boring...

1. I suppose it would depend on what sort of place you wanted...
Short-term pleasure vs. long-term stability...

Stable doesn't have to be boring...

2. Pottersville!
mainly on account of Pete Johnson's boogie-woogie masterpiece, which was heard on the sound track (but uncredited AFAIK). That tune was recorded as "Kaycee Feeling" (1944) and "KayCee On My Mind" (1940), among other titles.

3. Oops
I just watched the Pottersville episode again. The boogie-woogie wasn't the tune I thought it was.

But I still vote for Pottersville.

4. But wouldn't living in Pottersville
be as bad as, say, Murdochberg? ;)

5. That depends on which kind of monopoly is worse,
banking or news media.

6. And that depends on which is more important to you.
To the winger, the banking one would be the worse, because of the inordinate amount of fees for everything, and we all know they literally worship money (I have personal experience with one such freeper.)

To us, the propaganda-monopoly would be worse because of its insanity-inducing effects ;)
