I once had purple hair, too. My hair is dark brown. There was a time I needed a change, so I decided to color it red, which made my hair more of a very dark auburn. On time, my hairdresser asked me, "Hey! Want to go redder?" I said, "Sure! Go for it!" Unfortunately, the red she used had had a blue tones to it, rather that the orange toned dye she had been using. It looked like soaked my head in Welch's grape juice for a week. After a few week of multiple washings, it didn't look half bad. Fortunately, that was back when dying one's hair colors like blue and fuschia were all the rage, so I didn't bother covering it up.
