1. my husband loves to watch it and is always upset when they show only 5
minutes worth. So this should be good!

I love the Winter Olympics- my favorite!

4. Hopefully they will show more.
I think it was wildly popular in 06, so hopefully the popularity will lead to more broadcast time.

8. If you can get one of the Canadian channels, you can watch
a lot of it.

I also find it addicting, and would often watch the Canadian channel to see more than the 5 minutes worth they show on US TV.

26. NBC owns so many cable channels that on should be devoted to curling
probably MSNBC most likely. Or the weather channel.

9. Yes, and I don't know why ...

I will *always* watch curling if I happen to run across it. The problem is of course finding it.

I accidentally happened across what eventually figured out was a very intense match several Olympics ago, and I've been addicted to it ever since. When they publish schedules, it's one of the first things I look for, after which I start trying to find some method of seeing it.

Or that pie-throwing was a winter sport.

Learn something new every day.

11. Weirdly enough, yes...
I got hooked on watching it the first time i went to Toronto (1997, while playing in a hockey tourney), and am looking forward to getting to watch it again without having to get a satellite dish that picks up Canadian sports channels.

13. I'm an Expat turned Canuck who has become obsessed w/ Curling
Seriously, it's probably my favorite time of the year right now; we just had the Olympic Trials up here in Edmonton (won by Kevin Martin), and the playdowns across the province to become the team that represents Alberta in The Brier is a couple weeks away.

http://www.curlingzone.com

is an excellent resource for Curling info (mostly in Canada, but everywhere else) and some great columns. The CCA has some awesome old Brier Films here, too:

It's a great game, and overtaken my love of the Big 4 sports in North America.

I have always preferred the winter Olympics to their summer counterpart, and curling is one of the main attractions, lol.

18. It's not very exciting.
Maybe if they set the stones on fire, or if the players could slam each other up against a wall like in hockey. I don't know why the sweepers don't use some modern convenience like a leaf blower.

21. We have excellent curling facilities where I live, and it was hard to choose between playing hockey
and curling. I'll play hockey until my back can't take it, I guess, then will try curling. I've got a lot of friends who play.

22. I thought it was already an Olympic event.
It gets mocked more than it deserves, but it's really pretty interesting as a game of technique and strategy.
