Doompunk: is the new steampunk trend more evidence of pessimism in the US?
Edited on Wed Dec-16-09 12:58 AM by AlienGirl
It's like steampunk for the apocalyptically minded! It started showing up last fall. People have a lot of doom on their minds these days...

Local (Seattle) bars with costume nights are starting to include it along with goth and steampunk and fetish wear.

Serious question though: is this evidence of growing pessimism, a sense that "Hope" has not delivered?

2. It breaks up the monotony of the all-black/red goths, too!
A fashion with some actual colors in it!
