Finished my last city council meeting

Last one of the year, and last one, period, for me. I lost when I got shanked by the crooked faux Democrat (and I am very much a big-tent Dem) who chairs the board. He cut a deal with a lunatic right-winger to trash me while a, shall we say, compliant and less than intellectually curious hack Democrat slid back in.

They brought those of us who are leaving up to the front of the chamber to be presented with a key to the city. Nice thought, I suppose, but frankly, I would have preferred getting that fraud reporting system, green municipal buildings, and ethics reform package through.

Kind of a down way to head into Christmas, to be honest.

Guess I'll try and put it aside, and figure out the comeback plan for 2011.
