What is a good GRE subjects test score? Does anyone know? |
|
I took the subject test and got a 690, however unlike the GRE general exam, I have no way of really knowing if this is a good bad or average score.

3. It also varies wildly by school and department |
|
Some use the thing pretty much as a primary veto over everything else; on the other hand I know some departments which are told they have to use the thing, but just shrug and accept anything above minimum score if the references, research proposal, etc., all look good.
It also depends on the subject (like how a 690 in the general verbal is generally a much higher percentile than a 690 in the general quant).
