2. Both are good for different reasons.
Although I did particularly like that seen in Manhunter where they set Rick Astley on fire.

3. I don't really like either very much.
For Manhunter, I see why people like Brian Cox, but Hopkins' portrayal is iconic and definitive (even though his appetite for scenery is even larger than his appetite for human flesh). And the look of the thing is just too eighties and Miami Vice - it feels a lot more dated than many other movies from the time period.

As for Red Dragon, there's nothing really wrong with it, but nothing really right with it either. A waste of a really stellar cast.

4. However, the depiction of forensic technology in Manhunter
is realistic, compared to what movies (and TV!) still give us today...
