What are you listening to?
I turned on the local public radio's classical station this morning for a nice change of pace. It seems to lift my spirits this time of year. :hi:

2. We usually don't have music or anything else on - just what silence can be had.
My middle daughter is the exception. She keeps a classic rock station on almost 24x7 (and sometimes ACTUALLY 24x7), but she keeps her door closed most of the time. It is a little freaky that she knows the songs I grew up with better than I do.

Yes, I'm in a mall.

Lots of really thick Christian songs too.

Ugh.

called The Tontons. They don't have much in the way of youtube videos but they are definitely worth digging into their music.

"Dancing"

20. last thing before my just-ended nap...our own lightningandsnow singing on you tube
Edited on Sun Dec-20-09 06:26 PM by abq e streeter
She posted earlier today asking if anyone wanted to hear her sing. I listened to all three songs. A Dar Williams one accompanying herself on mandolin that wasn't recorded as well as the other two where she's actually performing in front of people apparently . On guitar doing a Beyonce song and a Jill Sobule one. She has a very nice voice. If any of you find her post, give her a listen.

Other than that, it's silent in my home ,but soon will be listening to the sounds of NFL football on the TV's in my gym.

23. Howdy Hippywife....now listening to some rockabilly to wake me up for the gym
Edited on Sun Dec-20-09 06:44 PM by abq e streeter
Paul Burlison , who was the guitar player (along with Grady Martin) of the legendary Johnny Burnette's Rock and Roll Trio. A great remake of Train Kept a-Rollin' ( "we made a stop, in Albuquerque", always love to hear Abq immortalized in song) with Johnny's son Rocky doing a vocal that's that's amazingly close to what his dad sounded like.

p.s. what was the music that made you nauseous? ( may not read your reply for awhile; I'll be out the door in about 3 minutes)

p.s. part two--I hope some others here find lightningandsnow's post and check her out.

26. Tabasco Road
Cajun/Zydeco show for about 10 more minutes then Rock Around the World, a surf/rockabilly kind of show, only tonight it will be his x-mas show - should be some odd obscure stuff on there. He has a pretty wild collection of rockabilly from all over the world.

31. Jason & the Scorchers-Still Standing
Better than I remembered. It's a bit bombastic and overproduced in places, but there are some real gems that take advantage of Jason Ringenberg's high, lonesome vocals.
