Share your funniest (in retrospect) holiday disaster stories here

A friend was talking about her oven going right before the holiday, which made me think of when my parent's oven went out two years in a row. The first time I had to carry the turkey over to our close neighbor's apt (she had gone into a nursing home and my parents had the key) and cook the turkey there.

The second time, we ended up eating wild turkey that my hunter brother had shot - and it still had a few pieces of shot in it. (rather disturbing at the time)

your turn...

1. I don't want to annoy the gods of Murphy's Law
but I really don't have any to tell other than one year my aunt dropped a kettle of corn chowder before she got it to the car. It happened outside, so the animals were very happy.
