I skated with 1992 Olympic silver medalist Paul Wylie today! |
|
My rink had a special seminar during one of my regular practice times. I joined about 20 other skaters to get tips and ideas from the great Paul Wylie. He liked my skating, and gave me some great advice for improving my jumping! :woohoo: :bounce:

You must have been thrilled. I hope his advise helped you and you continue to do well.
I like watching ice skating although I have never done it myself. I don't watch it as much as I use to but do catch it ever so often.

I'm a big fan of figure skating. I'm rooting for Evan Lysacek to take gold in Vancouver.

I've always loved to watch skating (and I remember Paul Wylie), but I really gained an appreciation for it when I went to Clackamas Town Center (a shopping mall with a skating rink in the middle) and sat there watching the kids taking lessons.
Just seeing how many times they had to fall on their butts to learn to complete even a single jump gave me new respect for the competitors who toss off triples and quads as if they are just skipping rope.
