My laptop almost died today

Considering my desktop has been down for some time, I've really relied on the laptop. I turned it on, and it just sat there. I put in the recovery disk which I was loathed to use, and the 'puter started up, and I didn't have to use the disk after all. Right now I'm doing some major backup work, and I'm going to leave it on tonight JIC. I'm hoping to keep it from giving me trouble, at least until after XMas, as I will be able to afford another external hard drive to do a backup on a regular schedule.

At least I now have my Sidekick to check email and facebook, so I won't be horribly out of touch with things.
