I feel like the Grinch
Man, I feel like I've been worked over by George Foreman. Just got home after working ten hours. A guy sends me a message on my IM asking if he can borrow some money. Here in the past year I haven't usually heard much from this guy unless he needs a favor. He needs $10 and he needs me to drive across town to give it to him. I told him if he can get a ride over here I'll give it to him. He said he can't get a ride. I said sorry.

Ho, Ho, Ho, Merry Christmas!

1. My dear Tobin...
He wants you to give him money, PLUS you get to bring it to him?

WTF?

I'd do exactly the same that you're doing: Sorry!

Yuck. He's a leech, sweetie, pure and simple.

Merry Christmas!

You are NOT a Grinch. Period.

2. Thanks
It's just the time of year and all, I guess. But I've had enough of that crap. The driving over there part was what pissed me off.

Only Peggy can tell a mooching douchebag to sod off and make it sound almost gentle!

5. You don't owe anyone, anything.
It is yours to freely give, to those that actually deserve it.

Don't even think about getting on board for the guilt trip that weasel laid out.

If he needs the dough bad enough, he'll find another way to get it. Your problem, it ain't.

Happy Holidays, Driver.

6. I put up an ad to sell/give away some horses
the one I wanted to get rid of fast - the free one - is actually a pretty good looking horse, but he is intact and I don't have the money to get him gelded right now. I need to get rid of him so I don't have MORE horses. This guy says he'll take him but he has to go to Texas for a week. I'm like ok, maybe you could bring me some hay when you come get him to help me out with feeding him for the extra time, right?

That was 10 days ago, he was supposed to be back Monday and he never replied to that e-mail, just sent a new one trying to string me along for a couple more days which will turn into after x-mas then after the 1st, I am sure.

If he doesn't show up with hay today the ad goes back up. I could have got rid of the horse the same day (on the 8th!) if this jerk hadn't messed with me. assholes!

9. Tobin, this is one of those classic, "Not just, No"
"Hell NO!"

I'm sure you are the type of guy who would be happy to help out an actual Friend who needed help. Especially at this time of year. But this cad sounds like nothing but complete user.

You only hear from him when he needs something.

He wanted you do drive across town to give it to him?

Excuse me? :wtf:

I'll bet he probably called everyone on his...list with the same story and I'll bet that were actually a few suckers that fell for it.
