I feel bad that I can't get anyone anything for Christmas |
|
I'm on a fixed income and nearly all my disposable income goes into getting my Jeep fixed. Plus, it's a gas guzzler that should get 18mpg, but gets only 12.
I had to get tires, oil change, wheel alignment, etc., leaving me nothing left over for Christmas presents.

2. Are you spending time with the people you'd get presents for? |
|
Your presence will be worth more to them than more/mere stuff. Your presence requires your jeep to transport you! Give everyone a hug! :grouphug:

4. Family and friends understand |

All they want or care about is you. Casual acquaintances don't care.
A BIG Merry Christmas from SO and me.

5. don't feel bad, you're giving them the best gift of all -TIME |
|
Edited on Wed Dec-23-09 06:18 PM by pitohui
years ago i cut way back on gift exchanges w. other adults, no one really liked the gifts or the waste of time and money that went into shopping for gifts that people mostly don't really like
but everyone likes the gift of TIME and the gift of being relieved of a stupid obligations/"have to"
i'm grateful to ea. and every person in my circle who has dropped out of the gift exchange madness -- think abt what you feel when somebody gets you an unexpected gift oh great now i've got to buy her a fucking gift, fucking fantastic -- well yr friends and family have the same thought -- if adults want something that's affordable, they already have it, if they don't have it, they don't want it, and having to force a smile upon receiving a gift they don't want isn't all that cool
