Video Gamers! Your 5 "desert island" games =
You know how this works. You're stranded on a desert island, and only have 5 videogames to play the rest of your life - what do you choose? Can be console, computer, online, arcade, retro, handheld, etc.

Mine:
1) Final Fantasy VII
2) Super Mario World
3) Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island
3) Final Fantasy Tactics
4) Final Fantasy VIII

1. You really liked FF VIII that much?
I liked it, but I've had enough of "draw magic" and the interminable GF animations. Sometimes I'd summon Bahamut during a long fight just so I had time to get up and get a beer. On the bright side, you have plenty of time to draw magic from monsters on your desert island. :)

2. I loved VIII.
After you had drawn enough magic, though later in the game, you could go to the Islands Closest to Heaven/Hell and slaughter ridiculously powerful monsters like nothing. Plus Squall was my favorite FF character.

7. That's the only FF game I liked
However I never finished because it was impossible for me to defeat and capture the best monster in the game before I went to what I think was referred to as 'Pandora's Box'.

5. Where would the electricity, etc. come from on a desert island?
If you had all that you wouldn't be stranded.

8. Ok
1. NCAA Football 2OO9
2. Madden 2OO9 <-----haven't played the 2O1O series yet
3. Latest version of NBA Live or NBA Live O8 which I still have
4. GTA IV
5. FIFA Soccer

5 was tough to decide. It was a tossup between NCAA Basketball, Fight Night, or some video game I haven't tried to kill time on.

10. Fight Night
Edited on Thu Dec-24-09 11:51 AM by JonLP24
is a game I haven't played much but when I did it was others and I'd lose most of the time. I figured out a punch that knocks a fighter down with one hit but the windup would take too long so sometimes I try to land it but rarely successful.

Some of those games I listed are more fun to play with others. NBA Live O8 is easy against the computer even on the hardest level, I only got to season 2(O8-O9 and I'm 18-1. For some reason I lost to Phoenix in the NBA Finals 4-2 in the first season. I was beating opponents by 2O-4O points up to that point and it baffled me. The team I play with is Indiana.

FIFA is a game like that more fun to play against others but I could spend a lot of time starting as a small professional team.

The Madden-NCAA is a game I prefer to play alone. The All-Madden and Heisman levels are very challenging and I can draft players into my pro game from the college game. I'm on 2O27 NCAA but only to 2O2O on Madden and I don't play as often anymore. Passing game is very difficult and it is frustrating and it has nothing to do with the fact Jamarcus Russell is my starting QB :D

My zero button doesn't work so my post looks funny.

11. I only played Fight Night 2004
and I enjoyed the game, I was so happy it wasn't like Evander Holyfields boxing(for Sega Genesis). In FN 04 there were very few times I'd be knocked down with one hit, usually against Holyfield, for some reason if he caught me just right I was on the mat. Other than that, I thought 04 was a rather clean, fun game. I like the create character mode, I made a whole team of boxers based on the Justice League with Clark Kent as my heavy weight, and the Atom as my featherweight. I wasted lots of time on that game.

Honestly I haven't played a Basketball game since 03, it was NCAA 2k3 for the ps2 and I hated the game. If you shot the ball just right you could make baskets from anywhere on the court, hell one guy I hated was Hollis Price(from OU) and people would just inbound the ball to him and shoot, nothing but 3's all day long.

My favorite BB game was Hoops, from the NES....:D

For football, I'm still playing Madden 06, I thought that year was pretty good. I tried Madden 07 and 08 and I wasn't that impressed at all, I actually thought 06 was better. From what I've read Madden 10 is a lot better than what has been seen previously, but I have yet to play it. I'll probably pick 10 next year, and give it a shot.

I don't mind playing the sports games with others, but usually the crowds I run with they get all mad when they lose and what not, so sometimes its not even worth the grief. For Madden I liked playing the superstar mode, and for college I like creating my own teams(last college game I had was NCAA 07).

12. I always hated 2K sports
I never play it. Even the latest versions of basketball you can use the joystick to shoot which I hate. I only play EA versions of sports.

Madden 'O5 was the last version I owned before O9. Reason being is I like the play on All-Madden, it's challenging and realistic but I have to bump it up to 7 minute quarters for accurate yardage totals. Anyways O6-O8 had that forced QB vision crap on All-Madden levels. I would find an open receiver but by the time I moved the 'vision' to him I would get sacked. Any level below All-Madden was just too easy for me. On O5 I could play on All-Madden and pass normal rather than using QB vision.
