2. what are you REALLY growing in that thing?
We both just got new cars so we agreed on a spending cap. I think my favorite thing is a new lamy safari pen. I love those things and must have them when they come out with a new color.

beer, pens, and sports cars should all be German

6. I rather like the spending limit thing
I've spent way too much money on christmas before and then you end up with credit card bills eating PB&J for a month. There are times when I've thrown money at a gift because I didn't know what else to do but at the end of the day I'd rather get a $20 thing that someone has really thought about versus a $100 thing that was a panic last minute gift.

although...a well thought out $100 thing is nice too

Flashback to 1926, when the world still was analog:

And 2009 ... They did not have ePaper in 1926:

12. OH NOES!!!111!!!!!
You mean like amazon is watching me if I buy anything from there? Or Google? Or ... this whole internets tubes? :tinfoilhat:

As I said in another thread about it, if this results in pushing up Vonnegut, Burroughs, Bukowski and a few others on amazon.com, my mission is accomplished. ;)

I got to go to Italy for the first time. Fucking awesome. I got to spend Christmas with my best friend (he flew over here to Germany and leaves on Thursday) and I got a new microwave/grill/convection oven, an ice cream maker, a knife carrier (please pack your bags and go) a Hinkle vegetable knife, and a few other assorted goodies.

24. Sweetie bought me one of those digital picture frames.
I put a bunch of digital pictures on it and it changes the image every minute. I have it on my desk at the office. Right now I have 61 photos from Boston. They remind me of civilization.

30. My mom and dad both gave me awesome gifts - hard to pick my favorite -
Mom gave me a beautiful necklace - it is silver with pearls - very unique

Dad gave me $1,000 - every Christmas he tries to find a different way to present it - sometimes it is cash, sometimes a check, and it is wrapped in a way that makes you think you are not getting money. This year it was all $50 bills in a shirt box. One year it was all $100 bills in a small gift bag, another year it was a check hidden in a book.
