Why can't I post a photo taken by a cell phone on DU? |
I can post it in emails to people, but I try to post it on DU and can't. These aren't my photos, but my son in law's. Does that change anything (I just copy and paste into emails and save them in My Pictures)?
I have a great photo I'd like to share with DU...help!

1. you have to put it on a photo hosting site first |
like photobucket or whatever, then you can post the link to it here

2. Can you explain how that works to a person who is pretty lame tech-wise? |
I tried to figure it out once a while back and couldn't grasp the concept well...

3. Here's a free photo hosting website |
Just create an account and upload your photos and post its link here. http://photobucket.com/

12. photobucket is easy, CTyankee |
and it's free - get on there, create and account - click on UPLOAD PICTURES/VIDEOS - it will ask where on your computer the pic is - locate it and you're good to go! Save and return, then when you click on the picture it will give four links - right click and copy the second one and post on DU! :D

5. tinypic.com is another free picture hosting site |
you just upload from your computer, and it gives you a URL you copy and paste into your post.
flickr.com is also a good photo sharing site, but might be a little bit more involved.

6. I had high hopes for flickr but it looked too complicated for my poor brain. |

10. Glad it worked for you... |
I have a photobucket, but that's gotten so swamped with advertising and gimmicks that I don't really care for it. Stuff I just want to throw on a post real quick and don't necessarily care about keeping forever, for that, tinypic.com is great.
