For Christmas I got the remixed Beatles collection...
I just now was able to put Rubber Soul soul in the CD player and I am amazed at how much better it sounds...

It really shows that Ringo was a really good drummer who pushed the beat and also added little fills that never came out before...

The harmonies are so lush, they blend together without challenging the lead singer, much better than the doo whop harmonies that competed with the lead singer...

BTW, Rubber Soul was the first LP I bought way back in 1966...

1. I've heard a few cuts from that CD and Ringo rocks it.
The sound is incredible. No wonder we were all going crazy over them in the 60's.

4. You know what....
I am sitting here singing along with every song on the Rubber Soul Album...

It was the first album they didn't do a cover, all original...

5. I've read if you are a real afficianado, you should buy the computer thingie with the music on it.
That it's better than the remixes.

I would love to have the first 5 albums in mono. I see no point in listening to Rubber Soul + in mono.

3. Ringo really benefitted from the CDs too. His drumming was lost or a blur on vinyl. nt

11. I think it's because they miced the drum...
What they did was digitally seperate the drums from the rest of the song and pulled out the full audio effect of the drums...

9. The White Album..."Dear Prudence"...
...that was the proof in the pudding for me.

I've always loved that song, it's definitely one of the best late-period Lennon Beatles songs. The guitars are crystal-clear, and McCartney's bass is amazing. Now I know what he meant when he commented in Rolling Stone, just before the release of the remasters, "THERE I am!"

All of the remasters are great, but obviously, more time, money, technology and creativity went into the later albums, as opposed to "Please Please Me" or "With The Beatles," so it just gets progressively better.

Enjoy!
