(look I didn't get an answer in the Matrix thread :shrug: )
Anyway, how come the machine guns used bullets but shot out laser thingies (like Star Wars)?
Weird freaking society.

Larger machine guns have about 1 cartridge in six as a tracer... a bullet with a dab of incendiary material in the base and ignited by the burning of the gunpowder. Leaves a nice visual trace in the air.
Smaller cartridges have the nose of the bullet made of incendiary material... air friction ignites it. Same effect as above, though.
