1. No surprise to me either. I'm the biggest Beatles fan EVER!
How was it determined?

2. I agree.
Modern music lacks things like intelligible lyrics, subtlety, dynamics and melody and interesting chords.

12. Everything else on that list sucks big time
I know people listen to pop garbage in every decade but I think the music industry was dedicated to promoting nothing but crap for most of this decade.

5. the Beatles are the number 1 band of all time...
As long as there are children of Beatle fans that become Beatle fans, they will be as big as they are now. The legend lives on..Oh, is my Beatle mania showing. ;)

6. They had the #1 best selling album, and they are the best selling act (not just band) if we are fair
Edited on Wed Jan-06-10 04:14 PM by lunamagica
Eminem is #1 only because the Beatles were counted not by CD, but by boxed set. If each cd in the set had been counted individually, they'd be the #1 act of the decade.

I'm so happy over this because I LOVE the Beatles, even if I'm a second generation fan.

They are one of the few joys in my life.

11. The Beatles are not my favorite band.
Never have been. They have always been in my top ten though. In the 60's, the 1st record I ever bought was a Beatles 45. I bought their albums throughout the 70's. In the 80's and 90's, I bought their CDs. Last year, I started buying the re-masters. I'm not yet 5 decades old, but I've bought Beatles music in 6 different decades. Over the past 6 years, all of that stuff has been confiscated by my daughter. The Beatles are her favorite band.
