When the US cools down, does Canada heat up?
There is a cool wave across much of the US right now - all the weathermen call it a "Canadian cold air mass" or whatnot. So if we get the Canadian cold air, does Canada warm up or get cooler?

1. Based on my limited knowledge...
When the US gets a cold snap, it is caused by the lowering of the jet stream.

As the jet stream drops toward the southern states, it allows cold Canadian air to fall further south into the US. Thus, we are essentially getting the same cold air as Canada.

If the jet stream, which flows from west to east, remains relatively north in the US, it keeps the cold Canadian air from dropping into the US.
