Can peanuts go bad?
I started eating a can of peanuts before the holidays and just recently started eating them again. I've had the can sealed the whole time, but since I started eating them my stomach has been hurting. I don't think they go bad, but I could be wrong.

3. They can get rancid.
There is a toxic mold called aflatoxin that can grow on rancid peanuts, but I don't know whether that's what made you sick. If the can was sealed they shouldn't have been rancid; also, it would be pretty obvious if they were, because rancid peanuts taste awful.

Wait, that was Johnny Cash. My mistake. Please disregard this post.
