It's going to be SEVEN fucking degrees in Alabama this weekend.
And we're going to have what the natives will consider a blizzard tomorrow... 1-2" of snow!

Fuck the snow. I hate seven degrees.

I have wine, beer and cigarettes. Some suggest milk and bread for the coming blizzard. Oh, I have 40 pounds of good dog food as well. Anything else I need?

1. 2" of snow is a blizzard?
Hell, in these parts we don't even notice 2". It's been below zero for a couple of weeks, and 7 above would feel downright tropical.

4. It's an Alabama blizzard.... Three flakes and a frozen puddle make for a blizzard here.
It was competitive shopping at the local stores for bread and milf.

I'm originally from the MidWest and enjoy watching this whenever it happens.

10. It is kinda like how people up north complain of heat during the summer!
Edited on Wed Jan-06-10 10:19 PM by Shell Beau

We don't get any snow in these parts, so when we do, it is a big deal, and with the normal temp being closer to the mid to upper 40's, the teens is cold. It is the opposite version of how people feel hot during the summer up north when I, in MS, know hot during the summer.

11. Seven degrees is cold no matter where you are, but it is extremely
cold for the deep south. We, here in central MS, have a low of 10 tomorrow. CRAZY! We even broke the record low today that was last set in 1986. I am hoping for some snow, even if it is only an inch. It will more likely be ice where I live though, with maybe an inch of snow to follow. And then comes the cold front!?!?!? Like it isn't cold now.

17. It feels colder in the south because it's a wet cold.
Humidity make all temperature suck. My wifes parents live in Colorado, we were up their over Christmas it was a dry 14 degrees, felt cold but not bad. In the summer it is a dry 90, hot but not bad. Contrast that with a 20 degree 85% humidity day in northern Alabama and it feel like you are going to die. The air is freezing. Or a 100% humidity 103 degree day, well if you need a shower just walk outside and turn around, you are soaking wet.

13. Here is the forecast for the Atlanta area where I live.
Edited on Thu Jan-07-10 09:16 AM by RebelOne
Snow is still in the forecast for today, but the arrival time has been pushed into the late afternoon and evening. Snow is likely in North Georgia with accumulations of a half to one inch for metro Atlanta, the snow will first be mixed with rain so accumulations will only be around a trace to .5". A wintry mix is likely for the southside. Stay tuned for changes. It will be even colder this weekend with more Arctic air on the way.

Today: Turning cloudy and then snow, and a mix by late afternoon. 60% chance of snow. Winds SW 5-15 mph. highs near 40. Accumulating snow likely in the mountains.

Friday: Partly sunny. Winds NW 10-15 mph. Lows near 20; highs in the upper 20s.

Saturday: Mostly sunny. Cold. Lows in the mid teens; highs in the mid to upper 20s.

Sunday: Sunny, continued cold. Lows in the teens; highs in the low 30s.

We only get snow about once or twice a year and it never sticks for long, so it is an event everyone is looking forward to. I'm not too far from the mountains, so I'm hoping for more than just a dusting.

14. LOL milk and bread
Don't you love living in the south? Anytime there's any snow, people go into total survival mode. I suggest a grill and some big fat steaks. That way, when everything turns to shit, you can go outside and grill up some beef and everyone will call you god because you have fresh food ;D

16. Ah, snow in Alabama. We used to get out of school for a dusting.
But then of course we had the Real Blizzard or 92 or 93 can't remember exactly I was 9, that dropped almost a foot on the Huntsville area. And then the ice storm of 96 where my family and I were out of power for 8 days. I bet there is nothing left at any Walmart, K-Mart, Sams, Fred's or any other store in a 100 mile radius. I've been transplanted to Dallas, where it's going down to 15 tonight. What I hate is all the douchetards out there that will point to this as a sign global warming isn't real. Yet if they knew their ass from a hole is the ground they would realize that abnormal cold in normally temperate zones is a sign. I have a friend that uses winter as a sign of it not being real.
