Good morning Lounge
How are you today?

So yesterday late afternoon a co-worker came by and after we chatted a bit asked if I am in the mood for some champagne ... uhhh ... yes :D So me and three others sat together had a drink and chatted away. It was so relaxing. After the very busy month December I quite enjoy the bit more quiet time right now.

Tonight I work at the cash-register again, this week the only time. I have the weekend off. Saturday I go to a show with two friends. The show is called "India" and I expect Indian music, dances and from what I've seen online artistics.

Picture of the Day (in the cathedral from Florence, Italy)

1. That's a great pic MissH!
I love the angle, good perspective.

Do you mean to tell me that you had champagne at work? Lucky you!

I thought you only worked weekends, but it's nice that you have the weekend off.

This is the first week in about five that I'm putting in a full week. Well, we did put in our 40 hours, but between Monday and Thursday, so we could have Fridays off. It seems strange.

:hi: :loveya:

3. Good morning Callalily
:hi:  :loveya:

Did you see that the January Contest is up in GD? I voted already.

I mostly work Saturdays yes, but if I have plans on a Saturday I try of course to switch. Telling the boss that I can't work that day and he puts me in on another day. If he doesn't forget like this time, then I have to remind him.

It is the first full week for me too. Before Christmas and between the years it was 3 days week. I preferred that

5. Thanks for letting
me know about the photo contest. I'll have to pop over there and vote.

It's nice that you are able to switch-out days. When I worked retail, we had to find our own substitute. During the week that was relatively easy, but if scheduled on a weekend, not quite so easy.

7. I am glad about the possibility of switching too
Sometimes it is nice to have a Saturday off. Even though I noticed that when I am home a whole weekend without plans I don't know what to do with myself. Of course I could go outside for a walk or something. But you know I am rather lazy. So the working on Saturdays at least brings me under people.

11. Well, with me having 12
days off of work (although some were visiting out of town family) I have become rather lazy myself.

Yesterday when I got home, I put on my jammies and it wasn't even 6:30 yet!

It's garbage pickup today, and I was just outside and there's a nice fresh layer of snow, with light snowflakes in the air. It's so pretty. The ground and the air is sparkling. :)

12. It is snowing here since morning
not much snow so far but it starts to pick up. We are expecting even more snow tomorrow and Saturday and as it seems the next few days actually http://www.weather.com/outlook/travel/businesstraveler/tenday/GMXX0040?role=

If I stay inside over the weekend I sometimes don't even get out of my jammies

13. Ohhhh, good thing you sent
me that link. I checked my area and we are under a winter advisory. Expected 3-5 inches of snow by this evening.

Maybe time to wax up my skis? ;)

Oh, I know what you mean about staying in jammies all day. I just love doing that, because then I don't feel compelled to do any domestic chores. ;)

Too bad there aren't any high mountains near me. Or I would go skiing more often myself.

Well, it's time for me to bundle up and head for work. It's going to be a beautiful walk.

Wishing you a great day.

6. I was thinking more of the champagne and conversation. :)
Saturday sounds just as nice. :)

I was putting away an exhaust part, and tripped over something. I'm going to work, it's doing much better this morning. I'll just take things slow.

9. Good morning, MissHoneychurch!
I'm just back from swimming this morning. How are you?

I didn't get much time off but things have slowed down enough that I am very relaxed and happy. And mr. swim and I will have a week at the beach in February for my birthday! A friend from church is letting us stay at her house there. The weather will be freezing cold but I will love having time to read and cook and make martinis. It's a town called Sandbridge and it is very quiet there in the winter.

Cheers!

and a belated Happy New Year!!! I wish you the best for the coming months.

Oh ... I love the beach in the winter. Taking a long walk and then get home and warm up. Or like you snuggle and read. And those martinis ... :9

Glad to hear that it calmed down a bit for you. Same here. Enough to do but not as hectic as December.

:hi:  :loveya:

:hi:

We're waiting for the snow to arrive. The Weather Service has a winter weather advisory from 12noon to 12midnight today. I took the car to get the 2-year service done. I went to the supermarket yesterday. If the weather comes, I'm ready.

That's a beautiful picture.

we're already having broken water main pipes flooding streets. The school systems in the mountains are closed today, and likely tomorrow also. The airport might be the only place that will stay open. :silly:

24. i have a busy day today.
My husband, daughter and I have to go to Medicaid and the SS office >:o I've been avoiding it for too long and I have to deal with those meanieheads, blah. (Yes, I said meanieheads, hahaha.)

I love the architecture in old cathedrals. My husband is from Grecia, Costa Rica. There's a cathedral there made of metal, it's a big tourist draw. I can't wait to visit there one day.
