Holy crap......a 500 calorie reduction a day can lead to 10 lbs a year??? |
|
Is that right??? with that rate, I'll have to wait 4 years to get back to my "smoking weight".....   it sure was a lot more fun putting that weight on.

Assuming the calorie burn rate remains constant:
3500 calories in one pound
3500/500 = 7 days to burn one pound.
365 days in a year / 7 days to burn one pound = 52 pounds in a year.

2. Reducing by 500 calories a day has always been the weight loss method I've used. |
|
My diet is pretty static so my approach would always be to find 500 calories to reduce each day because that is a pound a week. Usually I would lose more than a pound a week.

I'm not called mouse for nothing. I LOVE cheese. Look for low fat varieties and just take smaller portions.... but never, ever give up cheese!

6. I cut out regular Coke (mostly), and lost about 20 pounds in 4 months without trying. |
|
I stick to Coke Zero whenever I can. I think the stress of starting a new job helped. I've also been doing significantly smaller lunches than I used to.
