I'm not sure what I would plug it into that would take full advantage of all that resolution but it's nice to know that the technology is on its way.

5. That's Sony's 4K resolution.

Lots of digital theaters use Sony's 4K projectors now. It's one of the few single projector technologies that allows 3d viewing. When film is scanned for converting into HD, it's typically scanned in at 4K and then converted to other HD formats like 720P and 1080P.
