Having an injection for a bulging cervical disc tomorrow... vibes? advice?
I hear that the anesthesia that they give is out of this world, at any rate... :scared:

1. Good Vibes amigo
I hope it works. Whatever happens, don't let them cut you. The success rate is pathetically low.

I found a personal trainer who had neck disc problems some years back and swears that with proper core exercising and posture corrections I may be able to stay away from the knife for many, many years.

On edit, I hired him- and I start working out with him on Monday.

2. Had a rhizotomy done, for my neck, last spring
The anesthesia is awesome. Best sleep I've had in 10 years!

Sending you good vibes.

8. Make SURE they give you the anesthesia
Edited on Fri Jan-08-10 12:15 AM by LearnedHand
You're not exactly completely out, but what little awake you are doesn't give a rat's ass what they stick in your back. Much good luck to you. Oh, and take someone with you to write down what the doctor tells you. You'll sit there and talk with the doc just like you're not completely buzzed out of your head, but you won't remember a word of what she or he told you the next day.

On Edit:

(1) It's not very painful, especially since you'll be woozy. I had back injections and had virtually no pain.

(2) Edited because I damn well know how to use the apostrophe.
